SplitJets — Research Portal Privacy

Last updated April 2026. Plain-language summary of what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. Who we are

This portal is operated by Drew Hebb, founder of SplitJets, based in Geneva, Switzerland. For the purposes of this page, Drew is the data controller. Contact: hello@splitjets.com.

SplitJets currently operates as a research project led by its founder. If SplitJets is later incorporated as a company, the incorporated entity will become the data controller and your submission will transfer to it under the same terms set out in this policy.

2. What we collect

When you submit the form, we collect the information you provide: first name, email address, origin and destination airports (or free-text city/country requests if your airport isn't listed), radius and exclusion preferences, travel timing and flexibility, party size and pet details, price range, usual-travel comparison, readiness to book, and your consent choices.

We also log basic technical context for integrity purposes: submission timestamp and browser user agent. No payment information is collected on this page.

The optional free-text field ("anything else you'd like to share") is exactly that — optional. Please do not include sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, political, religious, or other special-category information about yourself or others) in this field. If you do, we will treat it with the same care as the rest of your submission but will not use it for any purpose beyond understanding your travel challenges.

3. Why we collect it (two purposes)

We collect this data for two clearly-scoped purposes:

Your data will not be used for marketing, newsletters, or any purpose outside the two above.

4. Legal basis

We rely on your explicit consent, which you provide by ticking the "I agree" box and submitting the form. This is the lawful basis under:

You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 9). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

5. Who we share it with (service providers)

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate this portal:

These providers act as data processors under our instructions and have their own privacy and security commitments. If an actual flight begins to materialize on your route, we may share the minimum necessary information with a licensed charter operator to arrange that flight — but only after contacting you first.

6. Where your data is stored (international transfers)

The service providers listed above store data in Google and Netlify data centers, which may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions outside Switzerland, the EU, and the UK. Our service providers maintain their own data-transfer safeguards: Google and Netlify are both self-certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension, and the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework. Their standard contractual terms also incorporate the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. We rely on those safeguards as their customer; we do not maintain our own certification.

7. Retention

We retain your submission for as long as SplitJets remains active as a research project or a subsequent service, and only for the purposes described in §3. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@splitjets.com; we will delete your submission within 30 days of your request. If SplitJets is wound down, we will delete all submissions.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR and nFADP (as applicable), you have the following rights over your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@splitjets.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing hello@splitjets.com with the subject "Delete my data." We will remove your submission from our records and confirm by reply. You can also reply to any email we send you with "unsubscribe" and we will honor it as a withdrawal.

10. Children

This portal is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted the form, email us and we will delete the record.

11. Security

Your data is stored in Google Workspace with standard access controls (account-level permissions, two-factor authentication on the administrator account). No payment data is collected. The portal uses HTTPS.

12. Automated decision-making

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Aggregation and filtering of submissions is done manually to inform human decisions about which routes to pursue.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated by email to people who have submitted. You can always request deletion before accepting a change.

14. Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints: hello@splitjets.com.

SplitJets is an early-stage research project and does not yet have a registered business address. All data-protection requests should be sent to hello@splitjets.com (response timelines in §8). If you prefer to file a complaint directly with a regulator, the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) is at edoeb.admin.ch.
